About John "Johnny" Cavalli
John "Johnny" Cavalli developed Canine Companion and Concierge after retiring from a demanding 25-year career at AT&T. He knows from experience the expectations and pressures of work life in the highly competitive Bay Area job market, along with family and personal demands on our time make it difficult to give pets the consistent exercise and care they need. Johnny happily works with you to arrange dog walking, pet-sitting, and pet taxi services on a flexible basis that works for you. He also works with best-in-class suppliers who he can recommend to assist you with any additional services your pet might need.
Since his birth in 1966 at nearby San Leandro Memorial Hospital, area native Johnny has lived with a menagerie of family pets, including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, rats, fish, baby chicks, and even a tarantula. As a child, Johnny cared for animals in 4-H and as a teen volunteer at the Oakland Zoo. As an adult, he has volunteered countless hours for the (now-closed) Alameda County animal control facility on Fairmont Drive in San Leandro, and for the East Bay SPCA in Dublin. In the last six months of 2014 alone, Johnny logged nearly 100 volunteer hours exercising, training, and caring for hundreds of lonely, stressed, and scared shelter animals. The superb education, training, coaching, and experience Johnny has acquired enables him to provide high-quality pet services in our community. Enriching the lives of pets has become his life’s work.
